Touhou Project: Hakurei Reimu 02

Often teased by fans because of the way she's dressed, Reimu's main abilities include flying in the sky, good intuition, and getting along with everyone, even those who were once her enemies. She is characterized in the games by her homing amulets and yin-yang orbs. She is also featured in the games wherein ZUN is involved, notably Seihou: Shuushou Gyoku as one of the Extra Bosses and in Graffiti Kingdom as "Flying Maiden".

Work.. Work..

Up to my knees with work to do.. Making a work sample for a University I'm applying to and last year there were over 30 applicants per available spot so time to work hard and see if I make it in!

Won't be a whole lot of time for costume makers now for a while but I'll still do some of it. I've learnt not to start so late, taking it easier and spreading the work out over many weeks works out much better.

Made a full-size pattern of Vincents leather shirt/vest. I made it after a picture I found of a Vincent model in plastic, it showed the details of it that not even a 1080p 2h movie could not supply. It will require another 4 2-sided belts.. Ouch.

I'm also looking for a proper cosplay group in Sweden. I'd really like to find around 3-10 other cosplayers that I could join and together we would conquer the world! Nah but I'd want a group of people that also aim high and to be able to share ideas and knowledge would be of incredible worth. Not to mention a lot of fun, I mean, how can a bunch of people with the same general interests not have a good time? :D

I'm definately entering cosplay competitions this year. Entering one at Meuwcon, one at Umicon and ofcourse next Uppcon! At Uppcon I'll also bring a new costume. Not decided which yet, considered Sync the Tempest(Tales of the Abyss), Syaoran (Tsubasa) and many others. Tips are appreciated! Some characteristic character. Preferably from a reasonably well-known series/anime/manga/movie but not overplayed, like certain naruto characters are for example.

2:40 Am. Why am I up?

I shouldn't be awake. I should sleep, but instead I'm up.

I actually am tired though..I did cleaning, started on a drawing for the Fair's art show thing and then worked on cosplay... What did I get done you wonder? Well.........

I finally attached the red ball to Mercedes' outfit. I made the bugs that go in the jars out of air dry clay so tomorrow they should be dry enough to paint. I also...cut out the wings for the back of Agitha's dress and started painting layers of glue on to harden the craft foam. Mmm I finished the blanket for the basket today too except I was WANTING to add lace along the bottom but all I could find was an off white lace. She actually has this weird..kind of..thing going on along the edges of the cloth but I'm not sure what that's all about so I'm not doing it.

Ahhhh...I went through some of the boxes I have in the garage. They're full of the stuff I use to have at my dad's until he moved. :[ Now I have tons of stuff in boxes and there's no room in my room here at my mom's... ;/ bleh.

Fruits Basket: Honda Tohru and Souma Yuki

There is a distinct difference between the manga and the anime of Fruits Basket; the anime shows a romantic relationship between Yuki and Tohru while the manga shows Yuki realizing his love for Tohru was more of a longing for the love of a mother.

To be perfectly honest, I prefer this pairing than Kyo and Tohru. It just seemed so perfect. You can imagine my disappointment when the final few manga volumes were released, but I guess you can't always get what you want.

At least Cherokee sent me this cosplay right? Featuring *Kanasaiii as Tohru and ~solano1984 as Yuki. Thanks also to their photographer, ~BanditYinG for the wonderful job well done!

So I got the flu and then my iron broke down a few days ago. But I seem to be improving my health, and I hope to be able to sew some things this weekend. Including my high waisted skirt for the upcoming tutorial. But here is something to watch until then:

Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance: Makinami Mari Illustrious

The pilot of the Provisional Evangelion Unit-05, very little is known about Mari, and her designation amongst the other Children has yet to be revealed. She has poor eyesight and is shown to have a difficult time locating her glasses when she dropped them from the collision with Ikari Shinji while parachuting. She also seems to have a fetish for LCL, as she appreciates Shiji's "smell of LCL".

Megane Complex sent this in and tells me this is another photo from Winter Comiket 2009 that I have yet to feature. Honestly, I wouldn't even know which anime she's from if it wasn't for the contributor. Thanks again for the email!

The "ruthless woman" Of the pair of secretaries employed by Rugal Bernstein, Mature was ordered by Goenitz to keep an eye on Iori Yagami. Even though She is a wielder of Orochi, She is later defeated by Iori and is eventually killed. Mature Becomes a playable character in the King of Fighters XII, exclusive to the home console version of the game.
I found this picture in neogaf.com, when browsing. I think he really fits with this kostume, and although in essence, will mature lebis suitable if the europeans. however, this is a very nice Cosplay, great job.

full of fail -_-

sooooooo this isnt a biggy but i feel REALLY EXTREMLEY stupid for not taking care of my props and cosplay stuff...i get in a rush and i mess up....and i am very forgetfull.........so this is what happened......i had gone to my friends house for her b-day and we worked on cosplay stuff. i brought some stuff over in a bag and when i went home i set the bag at the end of my bed...and forgot about the Chidori anklets that were in the bag....( i will post "before" prog pics of these later) later another bag got set ontop of it...a very heavey, bigger bag........that crushed them T-T and now im supper mad at myself :(....how could i be so mean to my cosplay.......grrrr me!...........i had to fix them and they are...okay, but not as good as they were before...i also got in a hurry while making my Elfaria dress and i was cutting off some extra fabric after i had himmed the side leg slit things and......i wasnt paying atention >:(... and i nipped the fabric 3 times...not nipped actually more like cut....giant wholes of doom (okay, not that bad but it looked like it to me......and maybe any other cosplayer.) not only that but i used a strange fabric for this dress so it wasnt shiny and would make the dress look the way i wanted...that fabric was a knit of some sort (yeah) so it could get a run in it. so i had to make sure it was sewn up really good and now it looks like.......small patches of green stitches on the BACK of my dress...at least the cosplay gods gave me that much XD...hopefully I've learned my lesson and it doesn't mess my group up in the construction judging.....i feel bad for my group that has to deal with my fail.....so yeah kinda sad but happy cuz i know that I'm gonna finish and have fun at fanime. just have to do the work, be patient, and get it done. *sigh* yeah sorry for the pathetic post and... i lied about my next post being prog pics....sorry about that too....full of fail remember?XD bye bye peoples............

If only KOTOBUKIYA gave every contributor a copy of the book as a token of appreciation. that would be so cool. But maaa, guess logistically that would be difficult to execute since everyone’s spread out across the globe. And if they give everyone a copy then those in the book won’t bother to buy the book themselves. *pouts*

Anyway, first impression of the book was “Wow, its thicker than I thought!”. Yeap, the book has over 120 pages and all in full colour on glossy paper.

I was pretty surprised when I went through the book. I was expecting more of a photobook but turns out there was actually some word content.

And despite the “Worldwide Cosplayer” tag, the focus was still very much on their local cosplayers and comparing the different cosplay cultures in Japan and worldwide.

The first section was dedicated to showcasing a few outstanding Japanese cosplayers. Mostly a 2 page interview with the cosplayers and photos of their costume.

 

Of course, everyone’s beloved Saya is inside too hehehee.

I got to say, the interview with the japanese cosplayers got me a little …how do I put it… disappointed. But I guess I’ll abbreviate more in another entry.

Kaname gets 4 pages for himself. Lols. Special treatment is special xD

The photographs selected for the entire book was great but as expected, of too similar genres. I particularly noticed the fact that most of the photographs selected were cosplays of female characters. There was very few crossdress pictures to be seen.

And very very few male cosplayers. Did the guys not submit anything? *shrugs*

And then there’s the surprising (or not) “Singapore” section. I’m amused and thankful for the special mention (for our little island). Though at the same time a little sad I don’t see photos of some of my favourite local cosplayers.

Overall, the OTACOOL2 book is a pretty nice book for people who have never tried cosplays before to get some insights and for those who are feverishly into the hobby to collect and enjoy in years to come.

Bleach: Soi Fon 02

The wielder of the zanpakuto known as the Suzumebachi, Soi Fon loves her master, Shihoin Yoruichi and adores anything that resembles a black cat because it is a form Yoruichi can assume at will. When she releases Suzumebachi, which literally means "hornet" or "giant sparrow-bee", the katana shrinks into a stinger that can be worn on the middle finger of her right hand. A sting from Suzumebachi will mark an opponent with a butterfly symbol known as a homonka or "hornet's crest". If stung in the same place twice, the opponent will most certainly die.

GamerTotoy Soapbox: On cosplay pussy white knights

After reading the latest comments on the "Top 6 Reasons Why I Will Never Hit on a Cosplayer Again", I thought I'd put in some of my precious time to explain a few things. Forgive me for being an extremely busy man; I cannot respond to everything, but I will at the soonest possible time.

This is just sad. I mean if those girls are real and those so called "past encounters" with them DID happen. Why do you need to "kiss-and-tell" on them? If they really are problematic individuals then can't you just keep their failures or problems to yourself? If you really can't stand them then couldn't you just move on and leave it at that? Why the "kiss-and-tell" and constant degrading?

I do not kiss and tell. That is, if by definition kiss-and-tell is "to divulge to others intimate details of one's romantic and/or sexual affairs which should be kept secret." Cosplayers being social retards, family black sheep, total wrecks, dumbasses, jealous freaks and bad performers in bed aren't secret. Sure I shared a couple of specific experiences, but no names were called and no reputations are meant to be tarnished. Should they identify themselves with any of the accounts stated, that'd be their fault and their own covers blown.

Why emulate your master in sleeping with plenty of women!? It's just plain useless, no offense to your master. What does it prove by sleeping with plenty of women!? That you are perverted? It's just downright degrading to women. Judging a person on sexual performance is really idiotic, no matter how you look at it.

This one's easy. Let me just answer your questions, and then some.

1. I do it to surpass my master. You see, as much of an advantage he has over me in years he's spent on this planet alone, we still have this rivalry thing going. Or at least, I believe I can compete with him and even surpass him in some aspects (he would never admit that). To become completely better than him in every expertise is a lifetime goal of epic proportions. Scoring more than his vague 500+ record with a solid 600 is just one battle won in this perennial war. He's a man well-versed with the ways of the world and I intend to be greater.

2. Aside from proving that arrogant bastard that I'm better than him, experiencing various women serves to enrich my own person. I realize that I have much to learn and experience is the best teacher to learn from. To gain that experience, I have to do things and do women.

3. It is only perversion if you have a skin-deep understanding of sex. For us better-informed individuals sex is sacred and a method to reach spiritual fulfillment. It is not just the practice of sticking dick into pussy. It is a process in which men and women become gods and goddesses. I will not go into detail with this. Do your homework. Keyword is tantric sex.

4. Notice how "bad in bed" was the final criteria? That's because sex is the culminating point, not the basis of judgment. Sex is the manifestation of man's true nature, of both spiritual and carnal desires. Sex is only degrading if you think virginity is a measure of dignity. Sexual liberation is merely a slice of the endless search for freedom from the restrictive faculties of mankind that keep us from identifying with our true selves and making the most out of gifts we were born with. Once again, I beseech you to look it up yourself.

OH MY GAWD!! Work, work, work..

Wow. I did not mean to rhyme but whatever!

Soooo I'm kind of....FREAKING OUT HERE.... but that's normal when you have like 50 things to do for 2 costumes.

Yeah, only 2. If only they were simple...... but noooo, Agitha has so many tiny details that in order to even know how many she has you would have to analyze a photo of her for like....10 mins. I know some characters are worse but believe me, she's still complicated. Most of the stuff is stuff that doesn't exactly exist. Her pattern for the dress does not exist. I'm talking about the weird swirlies on the dress, the weird bug jewelry,the weird off colors, the jars she carries. Yah.....sooo guess who gets to paint that on with a made up stencil and fabric paint =D!!!!!!!!!! Yay me!! -_________________- I also have the rest of her dress to sew, there's like layers of stuff....and details too.

-Sigh- Her butterflies took like 3 hours just to paint several layers and add the detailed dots on there. I had to have a few colors out so I could use them all while I painted. I couldn't go fast either because as much as I WANT to rush.. I can't afford to because then it'll all look like crap. :[

-breathes- I won't even get started on my Mercedes costume.

Okay. I lied. I will. I need to make her giant crossbow AND wings...from scratch. No base wings pre-made or whatever..... and then I need to redo some of her costume because it bugs me how wrong it is. :( I won't have contacts for her either because I'd have to get my eyes checked ANd then buy the contacts on top of that. It would be around $100 without my insurance and stuff so yaaaah.....not happening anytime soon.

.________. -cries a little inside- I have a few weeks left...and this all must be done. Not just done. Done right. Everything takes long. The day is already ending and all I did was the butterflies and stuff. I'm not stopping now though. I'm going to go back to the basket for Agitha and work on that then make some of the bugs that go inside the jars. Yep...

Bye for now. Oh and yes, it will be worth it in the end but for now. I complain because it makes me feel better :D!!!!!!!!

Kuroshitsuji: Drocell Cainz 02

According to Grelle Sutcliffe, Drocell is butler and puppeteer who thinks he is a human being. He controls the dolls based on kidnapped little girls with the lullaby "London Bridge" from his music box in order to please his master. He has a faint realization that he is not human when he had "white stuff" falling from his ear.

25 reasons NOT to date a debater:

I was passing through Facebook when I saw a lame-ass post titled: 25 Reasons to date a debater.
Well, enjoy:

1. They pay close attention to detail. They're so meticulous, you wouldn't go one day without arguing about what you two should wear, why you shouldn't carry her bag, bla, bla, bla.

2. They have well developed "oral skills."-Not. Most of them just imitate what they hear from other debaters. Also, they have fugly teeth.

3. They can go for 3 days straight... Whining and nagging about stuff and politics that you two just don't have time for each other anymore.

4. They fully understand the principle that “practice makes perfect.” not quite finished ".. and when things go to the shitters and there's obviously no resolve for me and my partner's differences, dump him and pretend to be friends."

6. They do it standing up…and like it. And then totally ditch you because of their "moral" inclination to do what society accepts is right. Rubbish!

7. They can do it one-on-one or two-on-two. -Not. They can barely do it on their own if not for their arguments for morality and self gratification.

8. They never finish TALKING SHIT early.

9. They like it when people watch because they are such attention whores. They like people to think they're smart and shit, when all they can do is bla, bla, bla about inequalities. Tch!

10. They’re willing to do anything to dominate their partner. See? No boner.

11. They can adapt to a variety of styles.. of shouting their partners down to a powdery substance.

12. They love a challenge. So if you're thinking about dating these things and are looking for a decent relationship, heads up: FORGET ABOUT IT.

13. They’re well schooled in all the latest strategies and techniques. -Not. Most of these debaters aren't even in to "pop culture".

14. They can flip sides and be equally effective. That's why they can never make good partners. you never know what they really want.

15. They’re determined to get what they want, how they want it, when they want it- that's why they end up as FAILS in relationship.

16. Stripping off a debate suit to find the birthday suit has never been more fun. -which means armpit hair and lots of it.

17. They say really sexy words like "permutation" and "cross-examine." That's why the only people willing to date debaters are debaters themselves.. and then end up as FAILS.

18. They always talk about giving and receiving hedge... and bla, bla, bla, their needs.

19. They turn your soft power into hard power. So hard in fact, that you would want to break up with them because you can't take their yapping anymore.

20. They like to be on top which is why these relationships fail.

21. They like to go fast. So fast that they dump you 7.30 minutes in your relationship.

22. They're willing to spread. Spread STD's. Seriously, I have witnessed debaters making out in washrooms in debate tournaments. talk about sanitary issues.

23. The classic debater "pen flip" is just one of MANY tricks debaters can do with their fingers. More like "pen stab". They'd backstab you like you were Quazimodo.

24. Very few of them have good values- which is one of the reasons why you shouldn't date one.

25. They can go round after round, in a different position every time. Which explains why you wouldn't know what they want, when they want it in the first place. Debaters often contradict themselves. Tch.

The half-American, half-Japanese lead singer of Trapnest, Reira had secret meetings with Blast's bass player, Okazaki Shinichi. Even though she was truly in love with him, she broke up their relationship in order to protect Trapnest from further scandal. Though her name is romanized as "Reira", her real name is actually "Layla" after the hit song by Eric Clapton.

Ranma 1/2 cosplay : Kuonji Ukyo

Ranma 1 / 2 is a classic of popular manga, because it falls into water during exercise with eyes kakenya, Kuonji Ukyo could turn into a woman when doused water.
I was not expecting to find this cosplay. she's really sweet with Kuonji-Ukyo costumes. This really reminds me of the first time reading manga. ^ ^ Thank kosupurai.
