Black Rock Shooter: Black Rock Shooter 03

black rock shooter cosplay - black rock shooter 03A character that was labeled as a black clad Hatsune Miku, Black Rock Shooter became her own entity on September 20, 2009. Crypton, the company that created Miku, announced that Black Rock Shooter has no relation with the Vocaloid character.

Black Rock Shooter is 15-years-old and is well known for her massive projectile weapons. The Black Canon can shoot up to 20 rocks per second, but she is also seen with a sword known as the Black Blade.

I think that’s a rather unique interpretation of the blue flame erupting from her eye. As the contributor Fernandez said, “this cosplay’s sizzling hot”!

Avatar: The Last Airbender: Aang 02

avatar: the last airbender cosplay - aang 02

Aang is a vegetarian. He refuses to eat meat because the Air Nomads taught him that all life is sacred, the same teachings in Buddhism and Taoism. He uses airbending techniques which are based on an “internal” Chinese martial art known as Baguazhang. His style focuses on circular movements and does not have many finishing moves, representing the unpredictability of air and peaceful nature of the Air Nomads.

This Aang is so cute! I wonder if he really shaved his head? And what did he use to paint the arrow on his head? Thanks to Leon for sending this in!

Nerdism Moment: CL'ANNAD

Nerdism Moment~!!!!!
Meaning I feel like talking about anime, games or something..
not always accepted by the "normal" world.
Ahem. Sooooo
I've been watching this anime called Clannad on Netflix.
Unforunately it is dubbed not subbed but I deal
because I am too lazy to always try and get comfortable
watching it on my laptop. I like the sofa OKAY?!?!
I also don't like moving my laptop from the desk
because he is comfortable on his desk
and when I move him I have to
unplug ALLLLLL his USB connections
and then he freaks out and loses internet
connection.
I don't know. He wasn't originally mine so I'm not sure
why he works this way. Must be a power setting =__=

Anyway~!!!!!!!
So I've been watching this anime and it's actually pretty interesting.
Doesn't seem like a "typical anime". It has its moments
but for the most part there's a pretty good story line and the characters
are fun to get to know. It really revolves around this guy who kind of has
nothin really goin' for him at home and his past is a bit hazy but instead
of being some bully at school he actually starts to try and make friends
with some random girls at the school. The thing is, the girls are a bit weird..
Only like two of them appear to have a normal life. The others he ends up kind of helping
with whatever problem they're having at school or with the past... There's like one who is
actually the spirit of a girl who's in a coma, then there's this chick who everyone thinks is like
a robot because of her stregnth and she likes to walk around in a bear suit. Then there's Negisa who seems very weird but ends up being a very sweet girl and joins Tomoya with trying
to get the drama club going. Well, the drama thing starts to get Tomoya (the guy sorry XD) to get more involved in their lives and they become friends.....and like I DONT KNOW. I suck at explaining things because there's all these details in between....bleh. It's interesting though.
I've been told to keep watching it because it gets better. I'm on episode 14 right now. The first story arch is only 24 eps, then there's the "After story" which is 24 eps too.
I don't know..it's weird and it has some fantasy in it, like the story of the girl and the robot in this whole other world going on... (like the photo).

There's not a lot of action in it...except when Tomoyo (the tough girl) beats the crap out of people. Kyou is also a hostile girl...she's hillarious though. XD. Then there's another girl who
is a dang genius but her social skills are hoorrrrible..so they try helping her.

Yeah. I pretty much failed trying to explain this. I suppose I will leave you with the ending song..

There also isn't much romance in this. Not yet anyway. It's mostly about friendship, strong bonds between people, fantasy..some suspense and maybe a little drama, but not much.
Meh. I like it. :]
Oh and I finished this other one called "Chance Pop Session". It's about friendship, sisterhood and music. It was actually cute and short (13 eps)

(Usually you'd see little dangos but it's Pika in this one! XD)

Angel Sanctuary: Rosiel

angel sanctuary cosplay - rosielOnce known to be wise, kind, and benevolent, Rosiel is the younger twin brother of Alexiel. He knew that he would turn insane some day, and asked Alexiel to kill him before this would occur. Unfortunately, her feelings for him prevented her from ending his life and so she sealed Rosiel within the earth instead.

Beautiful Rosiel! I know it wouldn’t be appropriate to call a male character “beautiful”, but I think Rosiel would appreciate that comment. Thanks to Marie for sending this in!

Soul Eater Anime

A 51 episode anime adaptation was directed by Takuya Igarashi, and produced by Bones, Aniplex, Dentsu, Media Factory, and TV Tokyo; Bones and Aniplex were responsible for the animation and music production respectively. The episodes started airing on April 7, 2008 on TV Tokyo, and two animated specials aired on May 29 and June 1, 2008. The dual broadcast of this supernatural action series was being billed as the "world's first evening and late-night resonance broadcast". The "resonance" term refers to a story concept in which the characters, such as the heroine Maka and her living weapon partner Soul Eater, achieve maximum power by synchronizing their souls.MTV Portugal premiered Soul Eater on February 1, 2010. In the Philippines, Soul Eater aired in a Tagalog version over the cable channel Hero TV which will last from April to June 2010.

Soul Eater: Maka Albarn

soul eater cosplay - maka albarnMeister of the scythe Soul Eater, Maka Albarn is a dedicated student and a protégé like her mother. She does not have a good relationship with her father, Spirit, because of his constant flirtations with women which led to her parents’ divorce. Maka is therefore obsessed with turning Soul Eater into a Death Scythe that will surpass Spirit.

Although she has a good working relationship with Soul, Maka has a tendency to nag or even shout at him when he does something foolish.

World Cosplay Summit: Representative’s performance

OMG! WCS 2010 Kicks off this Sunday!!! How time lies! Before we anticipate the final battle of the nations, let’s have a recap of their preliminary performance!

A little rant first, seriously tell me, am i the only one who finds the official WCS website somewhat annoying and slow in reflecting updates? Singapore and Thailand’s representatives have been selected for near a month before it has been officially stated on their website.

imageAnyway, because I was annoyed with the official website, I decided to do an entry for people like me, who are keen to poke more into the happenings of the World Cosplay Summit, but aren’t keen to stalk the blog or website everyday.

Last year they had some awesome video coverage of the entire event with exclusive interviews with each representatives. But they choose to restrict the video to a speciifc Japanese flash player. And none of us could watch the video despite installing the plugin multiple tiimes @_@ Was very annoyed.

Most people I’m sure, are like me, just wanna know who was selected, what were they cosplaying as and how entertaining were their skit. Simple.

So I’ve searched high and low to put together this video compilation entry that has skit performance of all the countries I can find. I’m lacking links to Korea, Italy and China. Does anyone know if there’s any videos of their performance online?  Without further ado, scroll down for the alphabetically organised videos =)

G.I. Joe: The Baroness

g.i. joe cosplay - the baroness by alodia gosiengfiao

Cobra's Intelligence Officer and lieutenant to Cobra Commander, The Baroness is a dark, sensual, femme fatale whose beauty is matched only by her ruthlessness. She has a romantic relationship with Laird James McCullen Destro XXIV, weapons manufacturer and supplier to Cobra. The Baroness’ real name is Anastasia Cisarovna aka Anastasia DeCobray who was on hand for the Tet Offensive in 1968.

Alodia Gosiengfiao makes such a convincing Baroness, even competing with Sienna Miller who played as the Baroness in the live-action movie, “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra”. Thanks to Treb for sending this in!

Hatsune Miku - Rolling Girl (COSPLAY PV) - VOCALOID

FINALLY Cvy and Knansaiii's Rolling Girl Cosplay PV is out!!!I'm so proud and jealous of Cvy's professional editing here! The poor girl was literally working her weekends away.

There were other commitments, but completion still took longer than I predicted,
dare not say I underestimated the amount of animation, transitions and effects
in the original, but it was genuinely.. time-consuming.

I mentioned that
the video will not be the same but I was so compelled to finish it ended up
looking about the same. BUT, even though some of the scenes look identical, the
entire movie was made from scratch. Even the lyrics, Kansaiii traced them all
individually! So thankful for her help, she was the only person who gave me
endless support too!

There is one part where you see me 'rolling', I was
very reluctant to have it because to be honest, it look extremely comical, but
when the song itself is titled Rolling Girl, I don't think I should challenge
that. My favourite scene would have to be 1:59-2:09 of Miku and the guy
conversing and eventually coming down to screaming at the top of their lungs. It
expresses one of the conflicting emotions she is bearing and him trying to talk
her out. This Miku is rather headstrong ;)

It may not be picture-perfect
but we put our heart into every bit, hope you appreciate our work ^^

Note: No videography involved, everything was made mostly with stop
motion and some burst shots.

Watching the final product brings back so much memories of the filming production XD How Cvy had to jump and rolled (yeah, you heard me right) and we had to throw her hair in the air to get the 'animated' feeling.

Am already looking forward to the "Making of" Video for this by Cvy! Click on the video and go to the Youtube page to leave a comment there and support the creator !

PinoyCosplay Presents Special Edition: ToSsGirl

As we come close to the July 27th release of StarCraft 2, the much-awaited sequel to the universally acclaimed real-time strategy game that single-handedly invented "pro-gaming" in South Korea and, arguably, the rest of the world, it's high time to catch the StarCraft fever. Now I bring you a celebrity in the pro-gaming arena, the StarCraft goddess if you will, female StarCraft reigning champ and strong contender in regular pro-leagues Seo Ji-Soo a.k.a. ToSsGirl.

ToSsGirl is the real deal. There are many posers out there who call themselves "girl gamers" merely because they play what the boys do instead of just Bejewelled, Diner Dash, and Farmville. They think they run with the cool club because they can play a few tunes from Final Fantasy on the piano and play the PS3 without looking at the screen.

ToSsGirl is different. She makes a living out of playing StarCraft, literally. No, she doesn't earn her dough by wearing skimpy outfits and scoring endorsement deals. Her wages come from her pro-gaming team and prize money from tournaments. Even for your typical nerd in his mom's basement who plays video games 20 hours a day, this is no easy feat. For a girl in a male-dominated scene, like in any sport, it's much more difficult.

Still, ToSsGirl continues to strive. Affectionately called "Queen of Terran", she switched from the race of her namesake to one she's more competitive with in order to have a fighting chance. Until female leagues lost popularity and eventually ceased to exist around late 2005, she won in every female league she participated in while also playing in the regular leagues. Back then, she was notorious for the retirement of every male player she beat on national TV. During the preliminaries of WCG Korea in 2005, she even shut down the legendary player Yellow in a 2-0 match-up.

ToSsGirl is now 26 years old, and for many pro-gamers, that is nearly the end of the line. It's the time when your reflexes begin to slow and you lose all that sharpness you once had in your earlier years. This doesn't stop ToSsGirl, though, as she's still duking it out in the big leagues. She's not making any huge waves now that there are more excellent players like the young prodigy Flash in the picture, but as the only active female StarCraft pro-gamer, seeing her in action is a blast.

Additional Info:
At some point, she practiced StarCraft at least 11 hours a day. Her father introduced her to StarCraft (and later regretted that decision) and when she saw the pioneer of StarCraft pro-gaming BoxeR play on TV, she fell in love and decided to go pro.

As an amateur she played Protoss against her sister ZergGirl (guess who her favorite race is) and consistently lost initially until she got better. Being experienced with the piano gave her fast fingers, which led to her friends suggesting her to play Terran instead. She gladly accepted, admitting she sucked with Protoss.

Hotness must be in the blood because her sister is a TV commercial model and actress. For now her goal is to win in ProLeague (where her team fights against other pro-teams) and enter the much tougher individual leagues. In 10 years she hopes to be "married and be a pretty wife", but she's not leaving StarCraft without a major victory.

This hottie has been around long enough to deserve her own spot here. She goes by the name Yuzukichii. Don't let the boobs cloud your judgment, though. Believe me - as someone who's had everything from a-cup to d-cup, I can certainly say lower b-cup is still the best. They're cute, they never get in the way, and you can grope 'em with one hand. The bigger ones don't really do anything special. You can smack them or titty fuck, but only sickos roll that way.

Ayumi got stellar scores but I must admit I'm not too fond of her most recent outings. Maybe it's the make-up. Girls have a knack for having all that cosmetics stuff work against them. In a man's utopian world, ladies are hot the moment they wake up in bed.

Parties~!!!

Soooooooo I went to a pool party on Friday. It was very fun!
We even had a fire at night so there were yummy smores involved.
On Saturday we made this funny D.gray-man skit on video and it'll be
up on Youtube sometime this week. I HOPE!
Then today I went to a party at another friends house and
they had LOTS of food. They are portuguese so it's in the blood
to cook, cook and COOK yummy food. My friend's dad made these
DELICIOUS PORTUGUESE DOUGHNUT THINGS.

O____O It was heaven in a few bites.
I had like 4 or 5. I don't remember. I wasn't even hungry. They were too good though.

I had a blast though. We were out on the dock with some friends and family members (all around the same age..early-mid twenties) and we were playing this number game.
It's kind of hard to explain on here but it was like "Big booty". Anyway! We were all cracking
up and having a really good time! I finally got home a little while ago. I feel tired now.

As for any "Bad news"...uhh I'm thinking about Sac Anime and wondering how I'm even going to afford it. =/ I really don't know at this point. I feel like I shouldn't be using what little money
I even have. I still have no job because I am slackin!

Darkstalkers: Morrigan Aensland

darkstalkers cosplay - morrigan aensland

The adopted daughter of Belial Aensland, Morrigan was born as an extremely powerful succubus who is said to be among the “S” class. She was so strong that Belial sealed two-thirds of her power; one-third in himself which will be returned to her upon his death, and one-third in a pocket dimension, which later became its own being named Lilith. Morrigan is ignorant of this fact and thought her life in the Aensland castle dull and boring, thus frequently visiting the human world to look for entertainment.

Beautiful cosplay! Would anyone dare take this succubus’ outstretched hand? Thanks to Wendy for sending this in!

WWCPJ: Cosplays in Chile!!!

In line with the Worldwide Cosplayer Photo Journey Project, I will do an entry to spotlight on the representing countries of the participating cosplayers ^_^ !
And as we all know, our first recipient is Asakura Haruto from Chile! So this is my short tribute entry about Chile and the cosplayers within it =) Much thanks to Asakura for providing me with the many links and photographs!

Below is a short entry about Chile the country. Summarized from Wikipedia =)

800px-Flag_of_Chile

Chile (traditional English pronunciation /ˈtʃɪli/,[5] also pronounced /ˈtʃiːleɪ/ ( listen)), officially the Republic of Chile (Spanish: República de Chile [reˈpuβlika ðe ˈtʃile] ( listen)), is a country in South America occupying a long, narrow coastal strip between the Andes mountains to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west.

The port of
San Antonio
Chile is one of South America's most stable and prosperous nations.[7] It leads Latin American nations in human development, competitiveness, quality of life, political stability, globalization, economic freedom, low perception of corruption and comparatively low poverty rates.[9] It also ranks high regionally in freedom of the press and democratic development.
Their official language is Spanish. German is also widely used.

Crudos, a Chilean meal made of raw minced beef on sour-dough corn bread topped with lemon juice, chopped onions and a sauce made of yogurt, mayonnaise and shellfish.

Rodeo is a traditional sport in Chile. It was declared the national sport in 1962.  In Chilean rodeo, a team (called a collera) consisting of two riders (called Huasos) and two horses rides laps around an arena trying to stop a calf, pinning him against massive cushions. Points are earned for every time the steer is properly driven around the corral, with deductions for faults. Rodeos are conducted in a crescent-shaped corral called a medialuna.
The sport, in its modern form, is strictly regulated. Chilean Horses are used exclusively and riders are required to wear traditional huaso garb. The sport has become so popular that in 2004, more spectators attended rodeo events than professional football matches.

Chile also have many natural scenery for tourists to admire and enjoy. I’ve never knew Chile was SO BEAUTIFUL!!! This totally makes me wanna travel to Chile in the future T_T!!!

And Asakura Haruto is from Antofagasta. Antofagasta  is a port city in northern Chile, about 700 miles (1,130 km) north of Santiago. It is the capital of both Antofagasta Province and Antofagasta Region.

The city's name comes from either a Quechua or Aymara word for "town of the great saltpeter bed."

And here comes the Cosplays! Text below are what information I have summarised from what Asakura Haruto have kindly provided for me. If I make any mistake in naming the cons, please do excuse me >.<
Over at Arica (a city near Antofagasta) , the biggest event of the year would be COTAKUNÓ. Many people from the norths side and other countries, like Peru congregates there every year on February.According to Asakura Haruto, getting cosplay materials over there are difficult too. Especially wigs as those can cost quite a fair bit. There are many big events in Chile with very good prizes.
Below are some Events photos and videos.

The main and important events in Santiago are: Anime Festival,
Akiba Festival, Urban Japan Fest, Anime Expo. I would really like to link to them but again…I can’t seem to find them on Google T_T I bet its the language barrier….

I’m sorry I can’t be more insightful with this entry as the language barrier was too big for me to overcome. But I hope this little entry here will help spread a little love for cosplayers in Chile and let everyone else knows a little more about them =)!  Hope you guys enjoyed this entry, because this took me very long X_X
